Hi Guys, I was able to fix the cruise control. When I bought the car, the cruise control and the power locks were totally inoperative. I fixed the locks by replacing the vacuum actuators in the RF, RR and RL doors. I found them at thebenzbin.com @ $25 each. They don't charge for shipping on orders above $ 50. Good deal. After that was complete...the cruise control regained some life: the car would accelerate when the CC lever was pushed up, but wouldn't hold the selected speed. Well...I removed the CC computer, which is above the brake pedal, and melted and checked every single soldering on the printed circuit board. Reinstalled it...and...voila...I have a perfect cruise control system again. Total time of this repair: 1.5 hours. Cost: $0. Last edited by Kefer; 11-09-2001 at 12:43 AM. |
