Does anyone know if it is possible to put a 2000-02 steering wheel and air bag on a 96-99 car? I figured the hand button controls will not work but how about getting the horn to work.

The plug for the airbag is the same.

I got the chance to buy an 01 AMG wheel.

yes and no. on a '99 you can, do to the possible compatability of the BUS system. 96-97, different BUS. I think the '98 had the update bus like on the '99 and up I believe.
