I always have 100 gals of wmo/watf on hand.At 50% in my wmo 12 gal tank,I save a bunch.I treat it like wvo,and rinse engine out with diesel from stock tank. All my friend bring me their oils, and its from gasser's.I run black wmo from diesels in my furnace. As far as Tennessee tailgaters, they don't redneck behind me.

Well, I'm not getting in this one way or the other but, the heavy metals that are present when burning WMO are regulated by some areas and certainly pose a REAL health issue. Not that much different then pouring BAD liquids in the ground or in the water so with that said, I'm out of this thread. Thanks

I did it once when diesel hit $4/gal I mixed 50/50. When it hit $4.50/gal I mixed 75% wmo/25 diesel. When it hit $5/gal I ran 100% wmo. I ran around 85 gallons of it. Keep in mind that I do live in Florida so it stays thin. I figured I saved over $400. The only reason I stopped is because I ran out of oil. There was some smoke at idle and it would idle so smooth sometimes I couldn't feel it running. Motor oil has lots more power than diesel. The only worry I had was it was probably around 10% synthetic and I wasn't sure it was burning 100%.
The best filter system is gravity. I Let it sit in a barrel for a few weeks then ran it through a folded over t-shirt then dumped it in the tank. I took the $400 that I saved and bought a parts car. I would run 50/50 without even thinking about it. The 100% wmo could really get rid of tailgaters if you put it to the floor. lol I'm playing with tranny fluid now, I like it better. |

Well greasepirate, you took it way beyond what I ever did. Thanks for posting the results of your experience with it.
As for all the pollution from burning it being as bad as pouring it on the ground, don't let me catch anyone pouring it on the ground anywhere near my place. I find it completely IMPOSSIBLE to believe that burning it is worse for the environment than pouring it on the ground so that it can reach the water table. It seems like I remember reading somewhere that the diesels in big ships burn WMO. |

The way I filter it,is to mix diesel in first.Put big magnet in the bottom of barrel. Let stand about 2 weeks or more. Then pump 6 inches off bottom to another barrel thru old sheet(double thickness). Then pump product in my filler barrel. When I pump from it to vehicles tank,it goes thru a 5 micron carbon filter. To control smoke I sometimes mix one quart turpentine to 30 gals.only at a 50% mix.
Now used aft is like 150 octane for gassers.I mean atf makes engine run good.

I like this method a lot because it should do a better job separating the metallic substance than I was able to do with my cloth filtering. To me, though, it seems like it would be better to simply leave the sludge in the bottom of the barrel and pump off the upper portion with a pickup that sets 6 inches off the bottom. |

If you read close I have never ran wmo in my 240d. I only ran it in my F250 for 10 months, the money that was saved was used to purchase the 240d. The 240 gets very good mileage which makes it not worth screwing with wmo when diesel is cheap. Never have worked on a Hyundai, but I do like tea. You are a perfect example of the people that stand on the sideline. Plugging up progress with sarcasm and idiotism.
