w123 N-Am bumper: possible 2 convert 2 Euro via Impact Strip only?

i know the entire bumper is different, but is it possible to convert an american w123 front bumper to a euro 'style' bumper by installing the euro impact strip which leaves enough space out front for the euro license plate? or are the holes for the license plate not there on the n-am bumpers once impact strip is removed?

Its an entirely different bumper assembly, though it is bolt-on in place of the US 5mph bumper.

huh, interesting. i would NEVER have guessed that the euro bumper is bolt-on in place of the US bumper. i'd of thought that mb completely redesigned the bumper bracket locations so it would be impossible to put the euro bumper on an american car.

anyone else?
