Shell Rotella T5 Synthetic Blend, 10W40 & 10W30 Meet MB 228.31

Probably too early for anyone to have used this yet. I wonder how long until we see it at Walmart?

I started using the Rotella T synthetic in dark blue jug for $20 at Wall Mart.

Not sure if it is full synthetic or not, but so far I like it with easier starts.

The best source of info I have found so far is here. But the site is down at the moment it seems.

This is another interesting site in Britain.

It says full synthetic on the label - I use it and probably won't change to anything else unless I can find a better one.

If my memory serves me correctly, a number of posters on here have claimed in the past that the Shell Rotella synthetic is not a true synthetic.

It's possible that the new "T" formula is different.

I don't know much about it myself, only what others posted here. Lance (Forced) seemed to be the one stating it mostly. I believe he said it met the same requirements as synthetics so they were able to be group it with them even though it is not synthetic based....or something like that. I switched from M1 Turbo Diesel to Rotella T this year after M1 raised their prices.

A blend is still not a full synthetic....I've not seen that stuff around yet, but I'm not switching from the blue bottle 5w40......it works excellently.
