The Clunk...

Starting about two weeks ago whenever I accelerate and turn left (Say turning left after a stop light) there's a small clunk from the front left of the car. During the summer I replaced the following in a suspension rebuild to get rid of a number of problems
shocks
upper and lower ball joints
upper control arm bushings
sway bar bushings
guide rods, mounts, rubber...

There doesn't seem to be any play in any of the steering parts that I can see. So I have to assume its the lower control arm bushings, the only thing not brand new. Is there any way to confirm or disprove it being them. I'd really rather not do a lca bushing this time of year, or actually I'd rather not do one at all... Anything else this clunk could be that I'm overlooking?

I see you just installed the shocks, but this noise began AFTER you installed the list of items, correct?

If so, check all your fasteners again and tighten the top shock mounts until they stop completely.

Good point. I'll check everything asap, but if it were the shocks wouldn't they clunk over every bump?

perhaps. I am just brainstorming, but there is usually more noise over bumps that could mask 'the clunk', no?

Which Sway Bar Bushings did you change?
There are ones on the Tip of the Sway Bar and also Bushings on the Rod itself.

I was planning to save this pic for another time but it might be useful now.

Notice the space around the other Sway Bar Bushings that I plan to change (I bought them already never got around to doing it yet).
I am guessing that this is what is thumping on my Car.

What about the guide rod mounts. On my 123 they would cause clunking. I'm not seeing those replaced in his list of suspension components.

They are a bit of a PITA on the 126.

Well the guide rod mounts are on the list? last thing. "Guide rod, mounts, rubber..." I meant that everything guide rod related was replaced, sorry if that was confusing.

So I tightened up the shock and.... no clunk! I love it when clunks sound like zebras but turn out to be horses!
