there may not be a vac control on it..... Been about 3-4 years since I last looked at mine... Memory might be playing tricks on me....
I believe this one could easily run without....

The car can run without the air flow box and related controls for the arv and egr. I replaced the box with a metal stove pipe that had adjustable joints. All vac lines can be removed from that side of engine. Egr valve can be removed or a blocking plate installed. If you were working in the turbo area, the arv spring can be shimmed to hold arv valve closed.

All of the emission controls can be removed without any negative effect on the engine.

Nothing controls the AFM, it is just a variable-resistance / potentiometer array on a spring-loaded flap, same thing that was used on the L-Jetronic gasoline engines.

A VERY BIG THANK YOU

Thank you guys for helping me and my car, yesterday my life was a mess. today i`m a happy man again, i did look in the forums about the egr and stuff and finally i decided to get the whole emissions control system and through it away from my car, ohh boy, what a diference did make!!! unbelievable but true, to make things better i did open the flap from the air flow meter for good and replace the k&n filter for the original one, i`d only drive for a couple miles but what a diferent car before and after, from a smoking turtle to a almost a race machine, i recomend to everyone to get rid asap of the emissions control system, i do own a 300SDL, and it did work miracles with my car.
A very big thanks to you all, God bless this forum, i was looking for $500.00 in repairs and it cost me only a couple hours reading and 30 minutes work and i got a new car again.
Did i say thank you ?
