For my edumacation...
This ad shows an SDL that needs an "external transmission line" - what is that line and what are some of the symptoms the car might have? Is this a DIY repair or is it waaay deep in the belly of the beast?!

Presumably, it needs a line from the transmission to the radiator. It's not a difficult repair and simply causes leaking transmission fluid if you drive it in that condition.
Vehicle looks like it's definitely worth a look at that price. |

I can only guess that they are referring to one of the lines from the transmission to the cooler. If so, a significant leak would be a problem until it was repaired (maybe it's just dripping).

If it's one of the cooler lines.. Check to see if it was "rednecked" like one of the cooler lines on my coupe was.
The P.O. brazed one of my cooler lines (soldered it to seal it). I have assumed that this is the cause of the dead transmission that came with the car.. I disassembled the transmission knowing it was about hopeless and found little balls of lead (they melted easily) all over the place.. |
