Decision, Decisions...
How do you decide which threads to read?
Do you read each one? Decide if it applies to your car? Read a person's reply? Just curious...

Read 'em all - you'll learn quite a bit that way and get an idea of the breadth of konwledge here. Then, when you realy need something, you'll already have the answer - or at least know where to find it.

I pretty much read every one, some Iam more interested in than others.
I reply to the ones I hopefully can add something positive to, or have personally done the project in descusion. I try to read everything for my own education here, may not pertain to me today, I don`t know what is over the horizon. I write down thread #, topic, date and who posted so I can easily find the info later. Charlie

Well, I pretty much read most of them, but there is a bit of criteria.
First, I like interesting topics, and this one actually I thought was a good one. There are certain forum members who have "can't miss" status. There are other forum members who annoy me, and I'd like to say I skip those, but I usually read their threads to re-affirm my annoyance. If they have WTF or OMG, or something equally as brainless, NEVER!!! If they are sporting a rogue T, well, what do you think! Oh, and over the years, nobody ever had longer thread titles than Carrameow....

There are some posters I always read because I trust their advice even though I've never met them. There are others that I try to avoid because they like to post even when they have never done the job and don't know what they are talking about. How about a thread on posters I trust and posters to avoid?

I mainly read ones that look interesting. I tend to skip over ones where the OP has all caps or serious deficiencies in spelling or grammar. I generally won't get into a thread that already has a lot of replies unless it looks really interesting.

I try to read as many as I can. I enjoy the troubleshooting and learning as much as I can about my car.

I have a gazillion threads or posts bookmarked. My bookmarks "collect" and reproduce a lot faster than the boxes of parts in my garage. I even save scanned images threads into bookmark folders. Personal Reminder --- "STOP taking boxes and parts to storage"; I need to get rid of my storage unit. I pretty much avoid the "drama threads" --- I don't have enough time left in my life for the drama on thisforum. Oh, and I'm planning to live to be 100. I do wonder what age I'll stop owning a Mercedes though. Am I'm going to be an old fart with 10 in the barn collecting dust or just ONE really NICE mercedes that I use to drive around the neighborhood? I sometimes have this vision of me in an SL (I know it's not a diesel) with wife #?? who is a trophy and a pre-nuptial, but that really isn't my way of life. Or is it? Wow....talk about getting off the subject. I must be in a "ranting" mood.

I read most of them, mainly to beef up my knowledge. I know these cars pretty well after owning 10, but I can and do always learn more.

I read almost all of the diesel discussion, if I have time. If I don't, I read all the ones that pertain to the 124 chassis and OM603 engine
Threads with solid information and lots of pictures are instantly bookmarked. I have a Mercedes folder with several folders inside: cooling / A/C, electrical, engine, instrumentation, intake / turbo / exhaust, suspension, and trim / exterior. A lot are, "hmm, I should do that"
