Help No Start after fuel filter change

Help. i need to get places today. i just changed the main filter on my 1999 E300D (606 engine) and now no fuel is flowing to the engine. It is more than just getting the air out. I can tell this because i have a glass inline filter just before the injection pump and when cranking there is no flow at all thru that filter, no bubbles no fuel, nothing.

What could I have done wrong?

Thanks
George

I've got a OM602 engine. No pump. Self Priming. Sorta. Tank is behind the back seat so it's more of gravity fed till the pump. How full is the fuel tank? Did you tighten the hose connectors? When I changed the primary and secondary it took a while for the secondary filter to fill up. I had to turn the key for 15 sec. Wait a minute. 15 Sec wait a minute.. Like 7 times.

Good luck.

Did you fill the new fuel filter before you installed it? I know when I've run out of fuel I have had to refill the fuel filter before it would start even though it's supposed to be auto priming.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately I filled the filter and I have cranked it a bunch, but no fuel. I have replaced the filter before and know it needs alot of cranking, but this time I have done it much more than in the past - still nada!

Thanks

is the fuel hose connecting point on the return or supply line to the engine leaky?

Charge your battery and loosen some or all of the Injector Hard Line nuts to bleed any Air out and to see if you are getting Fuel up to them.

Thanks to all, somehow the return line back to the tank got clogged. compressed air cleared it. Started and running now.

Thanks again for all the suggestions

Next time, make certain to have more than 1/2 tank of fuel, and the rear end a tad higher than the front. Then pre-fill the main filter and the prefilter cavity.

Where did you plumb in your inline filter? Did you cut one of the lines leading from the cannister filter back down to the IP's SOV?

Might want to run some Biocide to clean the tank.....
