still looking for the elusive OM636

Still looking for a 180d or ThermoKing reefer engine. Missed a TK engine locally by a few days, locally being 200 miles.

I was going to trade a 190D I had for a 180d since this guy had two, he lived in Washington state. I got sick in the summer and he didn't want to wait so he parted the car out.

That didn't bother me, but he removed the flywheel from the engine, after splitting the engine and trans.

He thought it would sell better that way because the ring gear was worn!!!!!

He removed the flywheel from a running engine and threw away the bolts!!

So... if anyone knows about one, let me know. A school had a 636 for sale, I was outbid, the guy never picked it up, so the school scrapped it! DOH!

Now, let me think.....where did I see a ThermoKing? Sounds like another trip to the Detroit area might be in the making.

Strelnik,

There might be hope. CA is cracking down on the "no old refer trailers over our state line" law this year and next. My next door neighbor is an over the road O/O and he told me LOTS of older ones are being traded in and not selling for that reason. I don't know how far you might be willing to go to get one but if it includes the South East, I'll keep an eye out.
