Sluggish, but only at highway speeds

Read various "sluggish" threads...haven't seen my symptom addressed.

Acceleration, turbo boost, etc. are great from stop and at lower speeds. But, when I'm on the highway and I punch the accelerator, it doesn't seem as responsive as it should be....kickdown doesn't occur as quickly as it should, seems to take too long to accelerate.

I've changed fuel and air filters.

Any thoughts? This is the 1991 300D.

Thank you.

Could the kickdown solenoid work at lower speeds but malfunction at higher speeds?

frozen brake caliper? you can usually smell the hot brake material... couldn't get the car over 65 until I found out what was happening.

with the under body trap ox, downstream from the turbo, have a look at this.

In post 29, I attached photos. I no longer have the same problem you describe.
