Tie rod torque specs???
I have replaced both tie rods (driver's and paasenger's side -the whole asembly on both sides) on my '83 240D and am wondering what the torque specs are for the nuts on the inner and outter ends.
I am also in the process tonight of doing the same on my '95 300D and have the same question for that car too. Anyone have this info??? Thanks!

Partially answered my own question. My manual states the following for the '95 300D:
Self-locking nut torque: M10x1 = 35 Nm M12x1 = 50 Nm I grabbed my calipers and measured the threaded ends of my new tie rod and got 10 mm in diameter and 1 mm pitch - so I'll go with 35 Nm (or 25.8 foot pounds). I think I read somewhere else that the torque for my '83 240d was also 35 Nm.
