Clutch slave problem!!!
I have read all the threads on the clutch slave and I believe I am going to change mine this week. My only concern is when i am looking at the lines and the slave itself everything is dry. I traced all the lines from the clutch/brake reservoir to the slave, to all brakes, and they are all dry. All the fluid is dripping from the bottom of the bell-housing. The top and sides of the bell-housing are dry. I even looked at the steel line that goes over the trans and it is dry. Is this normal?

It could be the Slave is leaking around the seal where the rod goes in. It extends intothe bell housing where the clutch lever pushes against it.
I have read on some of these clutch threads if only the slave or master cylinder is replaced, the pressure from the new one will cause the other one to leak. Charlie

I replaced the slave cylinder on my 240D and had good performance from both cylinders for 60,000+ miles. It's an easy job. Are you having trouble shifting?

Charlie is right, the rubber seal/diaphragm is probably shot. You can remove the slave and have a look. When I recently removed mine, I glad that I wasn't going to have to bleed the clutch afterwords (the seal prevents air from getting in - that's why you remove the whole slave instead of undoing the line when you need to drop the bellhousing); however, once I removed it I realized the seal was bad and a little fluid was dripping into the bellhousing (hence the leak coming from the bottom of your bellhousing). I have a new one, but have yet to install it. Good luck.
