I know this is blasphemy, but you could get a low mileage 300SEL for half the price of a comparable diesel. I'm seeing 18-20MPG.

Knowing me I'll probably sell mine in the Spring, but I'm loving every day right now.

working on those engines is a nightmare from hell.

I don't even own one and from my experience taking parts from the JY, I can honestly tell you that if you are DIY kinda guy, and are accustomed to the simplicity of our mechanically injected diesels from days of yore.... you will be tortured when trying to repair this engine.

....... unless you are an electrical engineer.

Chad, the only thing that makes me nervous is that neither Hattie nor Joe could/can wait to unload that car.
Still, for the right price and with your ability to paint.........

I agree. I've known Joe for a pretty long time now though and have done a few transactions with him. I think he's a trustworthy guy. Hattie on the other hand watches anime. (j/k)

daw's SDL has me intrigued though. If all I had to do is prep and paint, I'd be thrilled. I've got time to find the right deal, but daw may be that deal. Silver, black leather, cold AC, etc. etc. etc.

So how much are you looking to get daw. PM me please.

Now that I've seen, touched, and gone for a ride in that car all my shady suspicions went away. It was part of the reason why I started lusting after a W126 again.

Now it looks like I'm buying another W124 wagon.

HAHA Still?

All that car really needs is a good paint job to be tip top. Everything on it is mechanically sound.

I think I let Tyler drive it.. I know 79Mercy drove it one time. Tyler did have a 350SDL for a short time.

I would trade for an 87 300TD

heck if you buy my SDL chad hatty is closer to you and you can personally go bug his butt for the sound encapsulation panels.

I need my wagon for kid transport, the coupe so my wife looks cool driving to work (plus I love it too) and an SDL so I can go out with adult friends in style. The leg and headroom is a huge deal since most of my buddies are over 6' tall. None of them will ride in the CD.
