thanks for pics ,i did find it,though i think bowden is working ok,where do i find the solenoid?i will disconnect kick down tonite.

The solenoid is located on the right side rear of the transmission, one wire goes to it.

to follow up on my trans issue.i had pretty much given up being able to fix it and started checking out cost of rebuilds,i spoke to one indy who suggested that he check it out before rebuild began,he said the same things as forum members,check kickdown and bowden.i took out fuse #5 as it was really tough to get kickdown swith to unplug.i drove it and really felt no difference,parked car and made plans to go to indy in the morning.next day i begin driving and all the shifting problems are gone.i can only assume unhooking kickdown did it even though it didnt happen right away.i had only driven car a 1/2 block after disconnecting fuse.

Where is this unit located? How do I test it?
