Rear coil spring compressor rental

Anyone know where I can rent the correct rear suspension spring compressor tool for my 240d?

Not needed. Many will say you can just drop the control arm (with a jack underneath and shocks removed of course). You can also use the spring compressor from any auto zoo, just make sure its the one with the hooks not the strut compressor. This is for the rear only. Fronts need the plate style Klann/clone.

I just had my indy replace my rear springs and shocks (and one trailing arm), I do not believe he had to compress the spring to remove or install. He used a free standing jack under the trailing arm (with the car on a lift).

Just removed the rear springs on an 82 wagon by dropping the control arm with a jack.

Was pretty easy, and relativly safe, compared to the autozone compressor.

Diffy.

If replacing both, support the diff with a jack and remove the four bolts which hold the rear diff mount to the crossmember. Remove the exhaust donuts and lower the exhaust. Remove and hang the rear brake calipers. Remove the rear shocks. Slowly lower the diff and the springs will fall out.

Try a search. I've given this advice numerous times....

Jay.
