seat kits?
The front seats in my 85 300d are getting bit soft and tilted, not torn though. Are there seat rebuild kits available? Any suggestions on fixing the springs?

I have not used them personally but saved this link from another thread. http://www.worlduph.com/
Maybe it can give you some idea of whats out there. |
I'd also consider a junkyard. My seats had quite some sag after 400,000 miles so I went searching. you can usually find a gas benz with similar seats that has pretty low mileage.

If the seat has a tilt, probably broken spring or springs.
my 85 suddenly had a tilt to the right back in 07. I removed the seat from the car. the seat back, the seat cushion fabric and pad to reveal 2 broken springs. Find another 123 in the wrecking yards with a good passenger seat bottom. that doesn`t get the use as the drivers, plus the out side edge of the seat will be next to the consol on the drivers side. think I picked up bottom for $12.00 I used my seat tracks/rails and switched them over. the used ones were gunked up/rust. use your digital camera as you go throughthe sequence of dissambly. there are 3 screws that have to be lined up just right to see them on each side to get the tracks off the bottom. I see you have a 345 international, need any parts? I have heads, intake manifold(2 barrel), some exhaust manifolds, crank, and a spare block, all going to the scrap yard if no one wants them. all parts free, just need to clean up.
Thanks for the seat info. |
I don`t have need for the 345 parts, thank you for the offer.
there are some International Harvester forums, and Iam sure the guys are looking for parts. Parts are getting harder to find. and not too many old Cornbinders left in running condition. I see 2 4 door pick ups, a 64 and 65. then last week saw a 66 3/4 ton flatbed running around. Charlie Here are some IHC forums: www.binderbulletin.org www.oldihc.org www.pirate4x4.com/forum |
