Check your trans fluid level. If it's too low, it won't shift properly.

As previously stated; check the fluid level and the color of the fluid.

Change the filter and the Fluid to rule out the possible of haveing a plugged Filter.

See if these are close (hope they are large enough to read):

Checked level, i couldn't get a good read. It looks like the fluid is well beyond the two hash marks on the end of the dipstick. I checked it probably an hour or two after i last parked it. Color was pnk and there was no burn smell.

D911, thanks for the info. I am having trouble up shifting into 4th gear. It doesn't always happen. Just happened twice last night however. I wouldn't know where to look on those directions.

Is it revving high in 1st and 2nd? Could be the kickdown switch.

Dextron comes out of the bottle Red and when you look at it on the Dipstick some might say it looks Pink.
When it gets water in it, it looks somewhat the color of Strawberry ice cream depending on how much water.

Also he could check his Coolant Overflow Tank. If there is some Oil some of it sould get up inside of the Tank.

I am having a problem and have to rev up some to get into what I thought wad 1st gear.
Except that when I put it in Low manually I have to rev high to get any forward movement at all and the forward movement is only sometimes.

When I questioned on the forum most said it was a B2 Piston binding or broken. This is not too hard to fix but on a 123 the tail of the trans has to be muscled to get clearance in the tunnel the Transmission is in.

I would like to take a look first before I go out and get a used or new B2 piston and related part.
In the mean time the Car has been runing fine by Manually putting it in 2nd and ounce moving putting it in Drive. I actually got my Wife to do this and not complain about the extra work.

no, there's no water in the ATF fluid. I know it would look milky colored and its not. I was thinking of messing with the bowden cable to reduce the shift point a bit. Is a CC turn make the shift at higher rpms?

Yes, but make very small adjustments. Try changing it 1/4 turn.

wait i'm a bit confused, on the Bowden cable, CC for higher rpm shifts, CW for lower rpm shifts, but looking/standing from the front of the motor? or from the firewall point of view?

CCW (unscrew) to tighten the cable and get higher rpm shifts.
