Quite easy four or five screws in the front panel one underneath on the right hand side close to the outside panel. Straight forward no chance to ruin anything. The fan sits in the black box under there..

I just bought the motor and changed over the fan. Much cheaper...

If it wont come off, you probably haven't got all the screws out. Some of them are under plastic inserts... should be three or four in the plastic just under the front. Gently pry the plastic insert out and there should be a screw there. (Don't make the mistake of placing the inserts on your floor-mat when they often get broken) There are also some screws on the side. Once all the screws are out, the plastic cover should come right off.

Then, it's just a matter of removing the four screws that hold the electric motor in the fan housing.

On my SD there is a plastic 90 degree screw on the transmission hump, turn it 90 degrees either way to "unlock", this with four other metal screws.
