Now there is a reason to not live in Canada. It was 70F yesterday, I go a bit of a sunburn fixing a wooden gate at my parents. Not my W123, but my stepdad brought the 2x4 from HD via his 240d auto.

Started last week @ -10F-with heater assit- but I think it would w/o(maybe) This is with 340K on motor & almlost 100k on veggie. Also was able to switch on veg and drove 30miles to work with oil at 180F most of the way.

Ahh I don't miss this; 2 degrees the other morning, truck fired off normally, put it in reverse and went.:P

Now with my old SD if the block heater wasn't plugged in for 3-4 hours that would have been fun, and it would have been a slug for a few miles.

cold outside

The coldest I've drove the 240 is -7F not plugged in and parked outside.
When I left work tonight it was a balmy +10 so no big deal. After I switched to Mobil1 5-40 It starts real good in cold weather and I don't bother with plugging it in anymore. Besides there isn't any place to plug it in at work anyway, and I work second shift. It has to start.

It's supposed to be something like -10F here in IA this week, so that may end up being my coldest.

ColdestI started and drove the 300d was -10, and my block heater cord is bad so it wasnt plugged in. She fired up and drove nicely. That same day I fired the 300sd which has been sitting for a month and it start quicker than the 300d, but I didnt drive it.

-20 F with 15w oil and block heater over night and there was a little struggle bringing the oil pressure up at first, once it was there it was all good.

I've learned never use 15w oil during a fall oil change.
