replacing coolant after r+r thermostat
on my 300d -85 ,i recently replaced thermostat,some coolant leaked out,whats the best way to fill it up.......
1)throught the overflow tank while engine running and at temp 2)through upper radiator hose diconnected from radiator.? or some other way?

With the pressure cap off, partially fill it through the "S" shaped hose that attaches to the block on the drivers side, near the firewall, remove the hose from the pipe on the firewall, not at the head, when coolant starts coming out of the pipe, shove the hose back on quickly. Then top it off thru the reservoir tank (overflow tank). This method prevents an air bubble in the head.
I put a full gallon of antifreeeze in first, while its a dry system, then add water to full.
