Get one from a early W115, or R107, W108, etc.

The only thing bad about it as it doesn't light up at night, i don't think.

there should be a light bulb down there to illuminate the gate--just add some LEDs to pigtail off that power source and you're good to go

i'm not sure there's a light diffuser panel under there like there are under the stock ones (would presume the stock ones have them like the w201/124), but if not I'd think three led's would cut it

If you drive a Mercedes, there's no need for bling. I'm very happy with mine

woah, guys, take a look at mbeige's blinged out shift gate with the horizontal strips of chrome, and that hyper-bling head unit. what's next, fuzzy dice and a suede headliner? how about a pimp-cup and cane holder?

Why don't you show us what you've got rather than what you want to do to your W123.

Oh wait, nevermind. We've seen what you did to that grille.

well i could go the 'safe' route like you--try to restore it to bone stock condition--or i could be unique and follow my personal aesthetic tastes and open myself up to smileys like the one in your post.

in my opinion, these are old cars that are a dime a dozen, with hundreds of thousands produced. they're nothing special, they get you from point a to point b, they're not collectible, so have some fun with them.

or just restore them to bone stock and be like thousands of other cars, just cleaner.

by the way i love my grill, and don't regret throwing it on

advice to mbeige: don't take it too personal dude

ho ho hooooo. wow! now that's an idea! guys, seriously. why didn't i think of this before? ok, give me some ideas on where to start. i'm thinking i'll practise on the center console, then work my way over to the door panels and the trim that goes around the windows. keeping the sequins and beads in the blue shade just to keep it all matchy.

and those jeans are just cutest. going to have to do up my $15 old navies in patterns and call them my benz jeans--strictly for cruising

come on guys--keep up the good ideas. your car is your canvas. don't keep it stock, paint with broad strokes and multiple colours

Isn't that the pot calling the kettle black.

Mbeige has made many fantastic modifications to his car, making it one of a kind and tasteful at the same time. I suppose it takes someone with a more refined pallet to notice.
