1983 300D Parts car

I found a potential parts car. I have only seen it from the road. I do know that the engine and transmission have been removed.

It is the teal color. I have no idea how long it has been sitting, and how long the trunk has been left open.

The guy wants $200 for it. All the glass looks good, and it has all four wheels on it. It is a US spec.

Good deal or pass?

It would depend quite a bit on the interior Ralphie. And maybe condition of the half shafts. Is exhaust system still there?
Window regulators would be nice. Heck, there is plenty on there for $200 bucks!
Maybe antenna, heater fan, maybe aux fan {}, fuel sender, good chromed front and rear bumper?
See, with just a few examples you have plenty of value for that price.

I was also thinking about the rear glass, and the doors, hood, trunk lid, fenders...etc.

I am going to all the guy again and ask for a close up inspection....

I may need your help with a truck and trailer...

Well, my trailer is "mudded in" on my fence line in the back and I'm guessing it would take weeks or longer of dry weather before I'm going to be able to pull it out. Whatever I would try and use to get it would get stuck, AND make huge ruts in doing so. I got caught with it in its summer location this fall and it has been inaccessible every since. Will probably be spring before it's dry enough to get at.
But the truck is fine and I'm willing to help!

UPDATE!!!!

The parts car was not worth the $200 in my opinion, (window regulators missing, dash missing, etc., but I did get some parts...

I got a the jack, which mine was missing, 6 prong light sockets for my euro's, a 9 blade plastic fan w/fan clutch, clutch was face down and appears to be leaking, and I bought the reat seat back. It is sad shape, but it has (what appears to be) factory rear head rests. I will need to recoverthe head rests w/palamino mb tex and polish the chrome.

Now I need a factory lug wrench.

Dash, seats and console were given to a coupe.

It does have the full rear end and exhaust system. The headlight doors are no good, and one of the fogs is sunbleached to almost clear. The light buckets are there and in good shape, as are the 14" bundts. The doors open and close. All glass is there, and the front windshield has no cracks. The hood and trunk lid are straight. The fuel tank and cap are on the car as well. The cap is in good shape and no rust.

It was too muddy to crawl under and check the rear CV axles. I did find the front short half of the drive shaft laying beside the car.

If you are looking for something that I listed, call the guy direct at 214-207-8955. His name is Jose. He is real nice guy.

Oh that Craigslist ad !!! I see.. I kept thinking about calling him but just never got to it. Was the Oil Cooler and Lines on it if you recall ?

FYI.. I just rented a U-haul full car trailer... cost $60 a day. Their car dollys are only 10 bucks cheeper

Not a bad price. It's much cheaper if you have a friend with a trailer...and a truck now that my daughter crashed the one I gave her...

I still want to know about rear head rests in a 300D.

the rear head rests were a late item, my late 84 300d (Australian delivery) has them, it also has what we call here 280e headlights & front guards, You cant properly fit the early (euro you call them) lights to a 280e. They are a slightly different shape.
