Cruise removal. OK?
I just got a 85 123 for my son. The cruise doesn't work and I'd just as soon he didn't have it (new driver). Can I remove the control mechanism mounted near the valve cover and disconnect it from the throttle linkage with no ill effect? I'd just like it out of the way for working on other stuff.

You can remove it and all will be ok. Just save it, you might need it someday

You might be better off just unplugging the cruise control amplifier above the drivers kick pad. This is also most likely the reason why your cruise control doesn't work.
It's a silver rectangular box with a black plug on it, just disconnect it. |
