Brake Calipper Retainer Pin. Help please.

1981 300D

Hi Guys,

I changed the front brake pads (Bendix Calipper) but in the process....I ruined the brake pad retainer pins (the circular bars that are maybe 4 or 5 inches long and have a small hole at the end where you put a clip).

Where can I get those? Thank you.

I expect that is a dealer item. They are probably not very expensive though.

I'm really curious how you could ruin them.

Have a great day,

These brake pad retainer pins were stuck really bad. When I used the hammer and drift, the tip of the pin just split...I can't put a clip anymore.

What was a fun job became an issue for the days to come.

No big deal. Just be at your dealers parts department and get some new pins. Maybe they're open tomorrow.

Good luck,
