'80 240D Clutch Bleeding Clarification
So I attach a tube from the right front caliper bleeder nipple to the slave cylinder nipple. Loosen nuts on nipples.(that sounds weird :O)
I pump the brake. Fluid from the brakes is pushed up into the clutch lines? What is my clutch pedal supposed to be doing during this operation? Should I make sure it's down to the floor? or all the way up? Will fluid from the brake resevoir go down as I pump the brake, needing replaced as I go? Will fluid eventually appear in the back portion of the resevoir? Please fill me in on the details. I don't want to screw this up. THanks. Jay

Sounds like you got it.
when you pump the brake peddle, fluid flows from the brake master cylinder to the R/F Brake caliper. then through your tube to the Slave Cylinder and on up to the Clutch Master cylinder, and back into the Brake reservor. Yes, it fills the rear of the reservor. the fluid just circulates. leave the Clutch peddle up. pump the brake peddle slowly. If this is a new MC and Slave, then the fluid level in the reservor will go down some to fill the lines. Charlie
