w126 Heater Core - What tube is for what?

My heater core is plugged up. It's a monumental task to remove it, so I want to backflush it first. There are three pipes connecting to the heat exchanger.

Which tube is what? Why three? Which is in and which is out?

This is my guess. The outside two are outputs and both go the monovalve. Separate one for a climate control system with separate controls.

The middle one is the input and comes from the tube by the oil filter housing.

Puled the two hoses off the monovalve and removed the middle hose from heater core. Forced water from a hose into each while the other was plugged until nice clean water came out.

Now it seems I have heat with the fan at full speed, which I didn't have before.
