1983 300SD ignition lock tumbler

After vibrateing my key I have the lock at #1(run).I made a pin but can't feel a button to press to release lock surround.
My model uses the one pin removal tool.
Any help would be surely needed.
P.S. I looked all thru forums cannot get a straight answer.Early w126 tumblers are different than latter models.

There is no "button"

It's more of a release pawl that is best accessed with a jewelers screwdriver.

Send it in with the flat side facing the center of the lock and lever it outward so the flat side moves inward. You won't feel anything but you will be able to rotate the collar past the release pawl. You'll need to do this on every turn of the collar..........it will stop at the release pawl each time.

After about five turns, it's free........and you can pull out the screwdriver and the collar will come off the lock.

If you don't have a jewelers screwdriver, you can use a piece of copper romex wire (#12 IIRC) and file the end into a flattened area. However, it's not as stiff as a jewelers screwdriver.

Also, to rotate the collar, a set of 90 degree pliers with the jaws taped to prevent marring will work the best for you.
