Can you post a picture? Do you mean you can't fit it with the transmission tunnel in the way or the piston is physically too large to fit in the bore?
|
I am trying to put the new b2 piston into the bore, the new b2 piston has the same size, the problem is the space between bore and the frame of the car are so short, it's almost impossable to get the piston into to the bore.

how did you manage to get the old one out?
?broken? |
Did you remove the heat shield and unbolt the exhaust? Also you can take a 2x4 or prybar and lever the tranny towards the drivers side of the vehicle, it's a tight fit but it can be done. Check out Diesel Giants tutorial.

Yeah the old one came out in peices, my 300SD dose not have a Heat Shield, i ll try the 2X4 and see.

I had no trouble with my installation.
no heat shield is present. you do have to manuver the tailshaft towards the driver side a bit. search for my posts, I made a tool to push on the parts. beware!!!!! the piston cover has to be PERFECTLY aligned, or you will be removing it and reinstalling a new o-ring. |
