Power Steering R&R

Well, my power steering is leaking. I think it is the low pressure hose. There is fluid up top of the hose running all the way down to the steering box. The seal around the pump top may be leaking as well but I cannot tell.

I will happily change those, but I got to thinking - I saw those complete seal kits and thought "should I replace all the seals"?

Are there any other pointers for R&Ring the power steering?

FWIW this is on the SDL.

Thumbs up

Rebuild the pump while you are in there, reseal kit is about $4 and will take maybe 30 minutes if it is your first time. Most of the leakage on that style pump is from the top reservoir to the main body. Unbolt the pulley and replace the seals up front.

Replacing the old low pressure hose is easy. Remove it, compare to new, cut to length, install...

You are really over thinking the situation.
