91 350sd 603 running poorly when cold

Referencing the post on the 2.5 running poorly, my 603 runs fine when started, but after preglow kicks off then it bucks and runs rough until it warms up. After warm it runs great. Fuel filters all new. Was wondering if the egr issue that GSXR had wrote about the 2.5 could be an issue with my 603.

Does it run rough or just idle rough?

It's actually running rough. If you throttle up a little it chugs pretty bad. it's almost like its dumping to much fuel in or maybe an injector is popping to early and dumping fuel at the wrong sequence.

With the 603.970, start with a compression test. Does the car use oil?

If the compression comes back good and it isn't burning much oil I would get the fuel injectors looked at next. Do you know how many miles are on them? Does using lots of cetane booster help?

Engine uses @ 1 qt every 1k miles. I was thinking that its like 1 injector is popping early when its cold; if that's possible; then after its warm everything is ok.
Does anybody know of any emissions garbage that might be at fault.

The EGR valve on your car is very simple, and disconnecting it for testing will not affect any other system.

1 quart every 1000 miles? Hmm.... I'd look into that compression test.

Ok, I'll look into doing the compression test. I don't like where this is going. I've got a small leak. I know when my boost pressure line came off the intake manifold recently it made a mess on the left side on eng. comp. due to the blow-by I have.

I'm not too far from Greenville. Have you got a car lined up?
