1982 240d rear axles work in a 1984 300cd?

I was headed to the junkyard today to pull a set off a 80 300d ,the axles turned out to be bolt on type .Nuts ,they were brand new .Spotted an 82 with 1 that was new and 1 that had still a good set of boots.Hope they work ,drive out from the yard was $83 for both .Hope to put them on tomorrow night ,probably just in time too ,the low roar Im getting from the old worn out half shafts seems to be getting worse.

Both styles will work

There are two styles of rear axles and both of them work. If they are brand new grab them.
