Use coffee filter to check Trans Fluid?

Kinda corny question I know, just wondering what the forum thinks. I hear some people only use their fingers or leather to wipe the dipstick. Thanks

I just keep one of those lint free shop cloths, specifically for my trans dipstick, in my bag of tricks in the back of the car.
I'd think a coffee filter would be fine, but I've heard too many old wives tales about a tiny piece of lint destroying some trans valve body.

Mine hasn't died yet from my use of a plain old paper towel.

I use whatever's handy: paper towel, shop rag, old t-shirt cut up into shop rags, fingers.

In 16 years of car ownership, I haven't killed a valvebody yet.

Be sure to shake out the old coffee grounds first.
