fuel injector leak lines
I was attempting to replace my fuel leak lines on my 606.962, 98 E300TD.
i bought some fuel line from the local auto store. They are much thicker than the original lines. I am not able to get them pushed down all the way, therefore they are leaking around the base. Any suggestions or helpful tips/techniques in replacing these lines would be appreciated. The lines must have pressure on them, when the engine is not running. After pulling off the old line, the area around the injector started filling up with fuel. These fuel lines in this pic are not mine. I am using this pic as a referance. |

The remedy is to use the correct hose.
The only possible local place that I have read that has the correct Fuel Return Line is NAPA. Take a look at post #2 it has the VW part number for the same hose that was used on the older VW Diesel Rabbit Engines. http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=210922&highlight=return+line+part+number It could be a local Fuel Injection shop might sell it. As for a way to push them on the Nipples; let about 1/2 inch stick out and grip above that with a Needle Nose Pliers and push them on with a little twist. Careful not to squeeze the Pliers too tight though.

As long as the ID is 1/8" it should be fine for fitment.

In the pic of his friends Injectors it looks to me like there is not much room for Fuel Line that might have a larger outside diameter.
I may be thet 1/8" ID Hose for Gasser fuel injection is has too great of an OD/wall thickness.
