91 300D 2.5 Turbo Glow Plug Problem
 
Is there an easier way to replace the glow plugs on the 602 engine in this car, W124, other than removing the intake manifold. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I did it without removing the intake, just take your time.

1/4 drive sockets and a few flex couplers help.

Yes, a 1/4" drive, extensions, a deep well socket, and a u-joint coupler Is all I've needed so far.

I'll ditto what was said before me. 1/4 inch drive, approach plugs from rear, not side, and be patient.

small hands, strong fingers, black rubber gloves, it helps to have locking extensions, and locking universal joint sockets.
I'd just pull the crossover, and clean everything while I'm in there.
