Proportioning Valve Adjustment | 1982 300CD

Having a few transmission issues with a new to me 82 300CD. When I got her there wasn't enough ATF to register on the dipstick and there was no vacuum to the trans. Since then I have added ATF and have fixed a few leaks and am now getting 17hg to the transmission at idle.

When checking the proportioning valve with a vacuum gauge the lowest hg I am getting at full throttle is 5hg. When I adjust the little nut under the white cap I can adjust the idle hg from 15 down to 5, but full throttle stays at 5 no matter the adjustment. If I unhook the linkage from the proportioning valve and simulate full throttle I can get 0hg. This leads me to believe that the linkage below the proportioning valve may need to be adjusted to so that the proportioning valve's position at full throttle reads 0hg.

Does that sound right? Thanks for any input.

Make sure first that the throttle-linkage is giving you full throttle aqt the I.P. before altering the VCV linkage.....

Good advise, thanks! I put in a new radiator last night and it took a bit longer than I though. I was messy Anyway, I was able to check and it appears that the IP is getting full throttle. I will have more time to investigate this evening. Looking forward to some nice shifts here soon! Thanks.
