ignition problem 240 D
update 12/6 - I found the problem, it was the ignition start switch, got another one
and everything works now. Don update 12/3--- I have traced the circuit ffrom the starter to the light switch then over to the ignition switch. I get nothing out of 15 when I turn the key. my question is do I have to replace the whole ignition switch????? or can I just replace the tumbler or is there a way to clean the tumbler????? tks, Don I had a thread this summer on restoring my 1975 240d. It had a bad engine and I recently put in a used one. The problem I have now, I have to run a jump wire on the fuse buse on the engine firewall from fuse 1 to 2 to get pwr to the ignition switch. I have traced the power from the battery to the starter and then to the light switch on the dash. I assume from the light switch it goes over to the ignition switch???? I would appreciate if anyone could send me the circuit or tell me the flow and what to check to correct this problem. tks, Don:) |
If you are in the US, you can order a CD that has all of the wiring diagrams you need for this vehicle.
