In 1980, I plucked up my confidence and wandered into a Mercedes dealer in San Jose CA. I was obviously not wealthy enough to afford even a 240D, but I was pleasantly treated and I copped a gorgeous brochure! It was (is)cream color with an embossed emblem. I kept it all these years. As it turned out my first Benz was a 1980 240D, ...and that brochure still gets used-dreaming of an SEL! The photos are still lovely and bright, and all were created with a large format camera.

Perhaps someone would like to see these?
But how...?

When I purchased my 84 300sd several years ago I knew I wanted the original sales brochure. The 84 US catalog that is pictured here is the same one I won on Ebay a couple years back and it's fabulous!!! I love the paint chips and interior swatches (I now know that my interior is Ascot Gray) and I love to look at the pictures of the line up of all the cars sold in the year that mine was. If anyone is contemplating purchasing that book...it's worth the money!

About a year and half ago I bought a Mercedes full line broucher for model year 1980. It is cream/white in color with a Mercedes grill from a W116, embossed in the cover. It has some excellent purches of them building the cars and hand polishing the various wood pieces. Being it at the time a I my '80 SD, it was nice to have.

Yes, I am bumping an ancient thread!

Looks like the site no longer has the brochures on it... anyone know of any current sites that have them? Looking for an '84 specifically but any others are appreciated as well (always interesting to look at).

Google is your friend...

http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/PDFgallery_04.htm

http://webspace.webring.com/people/ba/autoliteraturecollector/mercedesbenz.html

http://www.goantiques.com/detail,1984-full-model,1869545.html

This one is in ND and looks like a service manual but is listed as a brochure:
http://cgi.ebay.com.my/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370177252715

I hope that helps. I too would love to have original brochures for our 1983's

Thanks! Yes, Google is a good friend indeed at times I searched for a while but did not come up with anything other than people selling brochures. The link of the OP had scanned pages of the brochures that you could view.

So perhaps I should clarify: Anyone know of any links with sites that have scanned brochures available for viewing pleasure?

I would guess that you didnt actually view the links I provided? The very first one is what you are looking for.

Here is the 300D.

Is this not what you seek?

I like how those 300Ds have idle adjustment knobs.

I sure did! And like I said, thanks! But, I seek more. If you look at the PDF's it looks like a euro market brochure that they scanned and it is broken down by model, 2 pages each. What I was trying to clarify in that post was if anyone has any other links they should be of pdf's, not ones for sale.

As I am also interested in similar info (free pdf format) for our 1983 models, I will share what I find regardless of vintage.

Perhaps collectively we can upload files to this thread on the off chance the links later go dead?
