Well -I been searching dilligently for one for about a yr n 1/2 or so every other day and one just showed up being advertised locally, I still have to bone up on the action-ation.http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y71...ower187x96.gif Just like max--You know-The ----LAST V8---I gotta bite the bullet and think this is the last of these vgt's im gonna run across. its in primo shape but he wants about haf what a new one is. I could buy anothe car but I dont --this is easier to store until i get the control happeninn- and i dont have to worry about adaptors cept for the big mouth inlet! BGkast how are you controlling your vgt?

which model holset did you decide on...
|
I may be reading your post wrong, but I believe the booster shown in your film clip is actually a supercharger, not a turbo charger. They are different animals that accomplish the same thing through different means. Supercharger is driven by belts, etc. from the engine, while the turbo charger uses exhaust gases to provide the driving source.

I think the mad max super charger sequence referenced is for our entertainment only.
Joke fail. I got it. Love the vid clip added to the post. :D |
With a VGT you can hold the "fins" closed to maintain full boost. For our applications most are setup to release pressure between 12 and 20 psi. As manifold pressure increases and you are nearing the upper limits of your settings, the VGT and VNT turbo will open fins to let off boost. the mad max switch can be installed so that the fins never open and you maintain the boost...

Interesting. how difficult is it to install this? Is the Turbo itself much different than what we have stock? (referring to physical size and attachment.)

Ahhh.... once again -Forced has the answer
http://superturbodiesel.com/std/attachment.php?aid=2296 Where has he been anyway? |
I am using a standard wastegate actuator like the one forced posted in conjunction with a vacuum actuator hooked to the VCV for the transmission. The wastegate (pressure) actuator alone will work, but it will likely just cause the turbo to put out a set pressure, even when you don't need it (partial "throttle", cruising etc)
