comparo 93 to 95 300D...
I noticed on the 93 the coolant air bleed to the overflow/expansion tank is on the block as part of the thermostat housing. cast aluminum. solid improvement from the 617's plastic nipple on the radiator that always breaks.
I just got the 95 in my shop, and am surprised that MB put the vent line back on the radiator... why? it is higher on the coolant system, so I guess I see an advantage of burping any air out of the system, but plastic is SOOOO weak! and so easy to damage... of course, the 95 completed a tripple axle on the interstate, and did not break the vent line... so they may have made it quite durable, I just don't know what to think of it.
