Number of Pressure Converters: One or Two

I have both a 91 and a 92 300D. On the 91, I can see clearly that there are two identical pressure converters (MB Part # 000 545 0327) immediately in front of the coolant reservoir with a vacuum lines coming out of them. But on the 92, I only see one, even though I'm told (both by my parts supplier and the MB parts department) that there are in fact two. Where could the other one be?

Just really confused....

I need to replace the pressure converters (so I've been told) to solve a boost problem.

Thanks for any light anyone can shed.

MY 90-91 actually use three transducers for boost/egr/recirc functions and the MY 92-93 has two transducers. In addition to the ones you can see with the hood up there is another one down low behind the right front headlight.

IIRC the deleted transducer managed vacuum supply to the boost transducer and I guess Benz decided it wasn't really needed.

The transducers don't fail too often and they are pretty expensive, I'd try to swap a know-good transducer for the failed one (from your other car) before I'd buy a new one.

THANK YOU! That helped me to figure it out. My 91 has three and the 92 has two.

It was already diagnosed by a competent tech when my daughter had the car in VA. He said both needed to be replaced. Now that I've got the car back, I'm looking into getting it fixed.

I'm under the impression that the two somehow work in tandem and that somehow if you replace one you replace both...but don't quite understand why that would be.
