Glow plug relay values questions.

1990 300D 2.5 Turbo is not starting. No glow plug dash light, not even momentarily.

I've been following the steps in 15-4000.

Dash bulb is good.

I've got one plug at .060 ohmes, but it is just still within tolerance. The other 4 are fine.

I'm only getting about 7.83 volts from the relay pins leading to the glow plugs. The battery is fully charged and all other trouble shooting appears to work out okay. Is 7.83 volts enough?

The glow plug relay temperature sensor does not give me any ohme return, and that is from testing directly on it.

Could a bad sensor give a signal to the relay that prevents proper operation?

7.83v is too low. Maybe the relay or connections need cleaning. I would pull that GP and test it directly on the battery, in fact its best to test all the GP's that way. If they are not glowing red, replace them.

Take Plastic outer cover off Relay and clean contacts.

Inside the Relay.
Gently
Also check your GP Relay Grounding POINT. There is one in the Engine Compartment.

9 Volts will start a conflagration in these GPs ,But 7.83 will not cut it.
You've got a Bad Connection somewhere.
