'84 190d wheel lock

I finally decided to buy that 1984 190d 2.2 that I posted a while back. I will be getting the key for it next week but I would like to know if I can undo the wheel lock so I can steer it, I need to roll it into my backyard. Should I not mess with it and just wait to get the key?
