w123 rear caliper/rotor upgrade?

i was just at the yard today and saw a late 123 wagon with ate caliper. caliper didn't look much larger than the sedan wagon, so i decided to grab the bendix rear caliper and rotor off a sedan and put it side by side with the wagon rear caliper--pretty much identical. pulled off the rotors, they were exactly the same diameter, hat height, thickness, everything.

so the question is, are there any rear bolt-on rotor/caliper for the w123 sedan? i'm about to do the w126 front brake install, but i don't want brake bias for the rear.

also for those who have done the w126 fronts onto the w123, how does the stock 123 brake booster hold up--does it need to be upgraded to a bigger one or can it handle the bigger brakes?

Are you getting W126 front brakes from a 1st gen or 2nd gen model? If it's a 2nd gen model, you'll need to upgrade to 15+ in rims if you don't have them already.

I was under the impression that the rear wagon pistons were slightly larger than the sedans. Whether its enough to cause brake bias, I don't know. Probably not if you replaced both rears.

anyone know if the brake booster on a 300dt will be big enough to handle w126 brakes up front, or whether upping it to the w126 booster is recommended?

I upgraded to 1st gen. 126 brakes on my TD. The rear rotors and calipers are exactly the same on a 123 and a 1st gen. 126. The booster works fine as well.

If you're going to 2nd gen. 126, I believe you'll need the booster too. I'm not sure if the rear brakes on the 2nd gen. 126 are different than the 123.
