Removing Wood Trim from Glove Box?? W123
Hello everyone, I've searched to no avail with this one. I can not figure out for the life of me how to get the "handle" off of the glove box so that I can remove the wood trim to refinish it. I'm a little frustrated that something this simple seems to have gotten the better of me.
Thanks, -Tristan-

There are four tabs (two on each side) that you can see on the fixed part of the latch assembly. The tabs are also what the latch slides on. You have to push all 4 simultaneously to pop the latch out. There is probably a special tool available, but I used Channelocks and a tool I fabricated out of 2 pieces of metal drilled for machine screws. They look like two brackets ([ ] ). Place the brackets so each nib touches the release tabs and squeeze with the Channelocks.

Carpenterman has it right. It's a pain. I've done it with 4 screw drivers, but it really hard to manage all four screw drivers at once.

Awesome!! Thank you guys so much! I was looking at the back and thinking the key had to be a certain way to pull the tumbler out, I guess I never thought the entire thing could be removed.
Thanks again!
