Can Vacuum Pressure Take Quite a While to Return
92 300D had sat for several weeks, during which time pressure converters were replaced. When I got the car back, I had no center vents and some jerkiness/thumping in the tranny...this was consistent after driving for 10-15 miles or so. So I thought that some vacuum line had gotten knocked loose or something. But then, lo and behold, the center vents returned. And, after 30 miles or so, the transmission seems almost back to normal.
So it surprised me that issues related to vacuum pressure would take so long to return to normal...I would have thought it would happen almost instantaneously. Is this delay normal? Or does it sound like I may have a vacuum leak somewhere?
