Center Cap Size Problem

I recently purchased a spare set of OEM rims for my 83 300D, so I dont have to mess with changing them out every winter/spring for snow tire changeover. The rims I had were original to car and center caps fit fine. With these spare rims the center cap just will not fit. Now that I have the spare rims on the car, they do look slightly different than the original rims. Is there different size center caps? Has anyone else ever had this problem? How can I figure out what center caps will fit these rims?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

According to what I've found from the EPC the 300D (123.133) has the bundt rims with center caps part number:

107 400 00 25

This part was shared by multiple chassis:
w126,w123,r107..presumably anything with a 14" bundt on it

The EPC Shows no changes in part for the center caps.

What did the "new" spare rims come from?

I know that with some aftermarket rims (like the 5-holes I have on my 300SD) the stock center caps dont always fit. In order to replace my lost one I had to use a different metal ring on the back to get it to fully snap in place. However, you said your spares are OEM...

is it possible they are 15" bundts? I believe the center cap on the 15" bundts are slightly larger...

Spare rims came off a 300D. Only part number I can find on these is 6Jx14 H2-ET3? and then the original ones I had with center caps that fit are number 6Jx14H2. So they are all definitely 14" rims. Wouldn't be 15" because the center cap goes in too tight and then bulges out and pops right off. So not really sure what to do other than ride around with them off on the rears. Might take your eye away from all the rust

I wonder if they are aftermarket replica rims...that would explain why the center caps dont fit. Like I said before with my replica rims the metal ring on the back of the cap was too strong and would only allow the cap to sit in partially.

I lost one of my original caps that came with the replicas and found a OEM cap, I had to additionally find a different metal ring so that it would fit fine.
This might be the case for you.
