odd eletrical problems with right tail light

my right tail light has been a bit of a problem lately. when my right turn signal is on, not only does my turn signal blink, but the rear light that is next to it AND the left light on the trunk lid I know that my antenna wiring is a mess and is not properly connected, but does that effect my tail lights at all? I also have an issue with my headlights shutting off if my turn signal/ wiper switch is set in high beam mode, and my reverse lights do not come on (I tested the bulbs and checked my fuses too.)

not sure if this has any effect too, but my blow motor fuse keeps blowing (and sometimes melting )

for some background history about the wiring, my car had euros installed before my purchase (the previous owner yanked the euros and threw some crappy dot lights in) and the wiring for the euros is still under the hood but not connected as far as i can tell.

(sorry for the extreme length) I can see about maybe post up a video and taking some pictures of the wiring if that might help. Thank you for reading and any help I may receive ~ Terran

For your first issue with the rear turn signal. This is typical of a loose or missing ground connection causing 'ground looping' through the other bulbs (through the ground wires). The electricity tries to find any path to ground and it is going backwards through your other bulbs to get there.

Examine the wiring harness and find the ground connections. Verify all the bulb grounds are clean and connected as well as the chassis connections.

Your headlights are probably related to the botched euro uninstall. They must not have rerouted the high beam connection back in to your existing assembly. Just turn on the high beams and see what connector on the euro harness has the power. Cycle high/low to verify it is the high beam power and do what you must to correct it.

Revers lights should have a transmission switch. I haven't been that far on my car yet but that is where you should probably look next.

Hope this helps and good luck.

X2 on poor grounding. Make sure all connections are clean & tight.

The blower is on another circuit so it is probably not related to the problem with your lights.

The consensus is that fuse #8 is marginally sized for the load it carries. With an old blower fan, CCU and auxiliary pump, there may be too much draw when they are all using power. When I was melting the #8 fuse, I pulled the blower motor to check the brushes and lubricate the bearings. That seemed to help. It also might be useful to pull the little endcap on the aux pump and apply a little ATF or similar to the bearing. A good idea would also be to replace those plastic bodied fuses with ceramic ones.

Some members have run a separate fused circuit to the blower fan to split the load on #8.

outside chance, but pull out the light and make sure its not filled with rainwater as mine was. I have a bad seal on my rear quarter panel window which allows rain to drain into my taillight. It made things act a bit wierd.

I would replace the right tail light ground to a better location with something more solid with some clean metal to ground to. replace the connector and maybe the wire back a ways. could be corrosion into he wire a inch or so.

Iam not a big fan of crimp on connectors. that headlight mess is an electrictions nightmare. Both sides are like that? the guy should have opened up the plugs and swapped the pins in the proper holes.

you are going to have to get a test light and see what wire does what.
