Go to Ebay, there's one there now. Can't send link as the site's blocked at work.

Looks a little ruff, but it's listed as "MERCEDES 123 240D 300D 300CD FIRST AID BOX" at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34202&item=2489393036&sspagename=rvi%3A1%3A1 . If someone knows a part number for it or just the lid, I'd love to know it. I lost mine on the trip back from Maryland riding with the windows down on I-95. Air caught it and it flipped open and shattered into a million pieces. I'd rather go with a new one if available.

I thought the First Aid kit in TD's was in the compartment on the right hand side behind the back wheel?

Id love to have a part number for that.. in my 300DT the sun has made the cover brittle, which is probabaly going to be the case with any used first aid kit cover.. a new one wont be aged, therefore durable.

A 300 "TD" is a wagon, and the First Aid kit is in the back on the right side, along with the jack. The sedans of the 123 series, regardless of engine, turbo or non-turbo, had the kit in the rear parcel shelf on the passenger side, near the speaker. The sedans are called 240D, 300D, and 300D Turbo Diesel. I gather Asti84 has a 300D Turbo Diesel and is simply calling it a td. As many of you know, all 300Ds brought into the U.S. after 1982 were Turbo Diesel models.

Actually the wagon is the 300DT. Unfortunately Autozone, Advanced, Nappa, cars.com, Kelly Blue Book and many others insist that a 300D Turbo Diesel is a 300TD which seriously confuses people.

Wagons are definitely TD's and not DT's. All wagon rear hatches have 300TD on the left hand side. They have either Diesel or Turbodiesel on the right hand side depending on whether they are turboed or not. The 'T' stands for Touring and not Turbo. Apparently the Germans think you need a wagon to tour.

Wrong, they are on the drivers side or left side of the car. They are right over the fuel sending unit near the speaker on left side.

Had this conversation with 84300DT in another thread- and it does confuse people. I have never seen an OE Mercedes document that refers to W123's that have the 617-952's as "DT". Others may do it and that further confuses people. I may sound anal, but in W123's "T" stands for touring and touring only, and by sticking to that by people who know (ie us) less would be confused. It may be a technicality, but when referencing a particular chassis or engine, we rely on technical terms which need to be accurate and uniform. This is not "my" idea or "your" idea - it is Mercedes.

I stand corrected on the exact side of the parcel that the first aid kit is on. I guess I was really commenting on the misunderstanding of the model designations.

In the W123 world, as far as I know this is:

MB300D mean Diesel 4 door sedan

MB300DT mean Diesel Turbo 4 door sedan

MB300TD mean Touring Diesel wagon

MB300TDT mean Touring Diesel Turbo wagon
